We are offering our coilovers for a special price for a limited time only. We have our first shipment in, and we would like to give some lucky people a special offer on the Type II’s. This special will last only while our supplies last. Once this initial shipment is gone, the price will go back to the MSRP of $1150.00.

What is the special price you ask? Good question… the Type II coilovers will be available right now for $1050.00 shipped to the lower 48 states. Again, this is for a limited time only, so if you want to be the first ones on your block with these, now is the perfect time to jump on these. Save that extra money for that expensive gas!!!

Yes!! this weekend we went to Bimmerfest…..no not Beerfest, Bimmerfest!! Beerfest would yield beer bellies that we don’t need around here (no offense to those that have already acquired yours). The Bavarians best was out in Santa Barbara on May 3rd to show off there prized 1, 3, 5, 6, or 7 series. With a few X and Z series cars in attendance as well.  So here are some pics i snapped while walking around looking for food.

Tomorrow is the OFFICIAL release date of our new, highly anticipated, and long overdue Type II coilovers. These will be ready to ship out tomorrow. Our current inventory consists of the 5 most popular Honda applications:

Civic EG (92-95)
Civic EK (96-00)
Civic EF (88-91)
Integra (90-93)
Integra (94-01)

These are all fully adjustable, both height and dampening. Spring rates are 12/8kg. Twin tube design.

Other applications will be available around mid May. Those should include Accords and Preludes. Also included will be the Type I coilovers, which are non-adjustable for the dampening. If you don’t see your application, don’t fret… we are currently working on other non-honda applications. The BMW E46 will be the first non-honda available.

Now that I got that out of the way… I just wanted to throw something out there for everyone. What motivates you? Is it money? Is it power? Or is it to impress the opposite sex? Regardless of what your motivations are in life to do what you do, you should always strive to be the best at whatever you are doing. Can you honestly look at yourself every morning and say that you are giving life your best effort? Are you being the best friend that you can be? Are you being the best son/daughter/brother/sister that you can be? People always complain and want something for nothing. We are all guilty of this. You get what you put into something. That is a FACT. Luck is opportunity and preparation for the opportunity meeting at the crossroads. These roads pass each other all the time. The opportunities are there… are you ready?

The whole point of todays blog is to just to remind everyone that we can all better ourselves. You never stop growing and learning. We are all capable of doing whatever we want to do… and we can all be whatever we aspire to be. There are no excuses. The only thing holding us back is fear. Fear of failure. Or maybe it is fear of actually succeeding. There are a million reasons one can come up with for not being or doing what they wish they could. Stop wishing and start believing.

My motivation in life is to be a success. I want to put out the best coilovers possible. I want to advertise the best. I want to give the best customer service to you. I want to have the best packaging. I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror and say that I did my best. Whether or not others think I am a success or not, I know that I put forth my best effort forward. I am ready for the opportunities that are bound to come my way.

Here is my motivational quote of the day. “Hardwork will always beat Talent, when Talent doesn’t work hard.”

…….im sure we know that our education system in America struggles at time, and illiteracy is at an all time low, compared to other countries. So us “education minded” people at function and form decided to create some reading material for the nation. Our new “pamphlets” (i just like saying that word), will be available at shows, your local dealer, or randomly placed at your car in the club parking lot (ok just kidding about the last part…..well maybe). Enjoy………… and dont try to blow it up and read it, bad for your eyes.

*Ahem… (clears throat…)

Welcome everyone… I am sure everyone is very familiar with Preston aka Pworld. Since we are going through changes right now within the company, like new website, new blog, new products, etc… I figured I would take the time to introduce myself. My name is Robert Wu. I am the man behind the scenes of everything. Pworld and Andy are the people that most of you guys/gals are familiar with. I am the “mystery” person that most people don’t know about. So here is my formal introduction to everyone. I am the token “asian” in the company… lol… every company has to have one right!?!?

Here are some little known facts about the crew at Function & Form:

-Met Andy in 3rd grade/neighbor
-Met Pworld in an english class at Pasadena Community College
-We all share the same passion for cars… not just imports though. Lowriders, muscle cars, exotics, classics… we love them all.
-We are the only 3 people that officially work at Function & Form. If you hear otherwise, its hog-wash…. I would know… trust me!!
Nicknames:
Preston- Pworld, World, P-Diddy, or “black”.
Andrew- Andy, Andyisms, Vincent Hitcock… thats our favorite.
Robert- Rob, Bobbee, numbers (and I hate math)

Those are a couple of facts that you may find interesting. I will try to get more involved on the blog and keep everyone in the loop. The point of this blog is to keep our customers in the loop of what is going on at Function & Form. If something isn’t mentioned on this blog or mentioned on our myspace page, then it isn’t official. So if you want the truth and want to stay in tune with what we are doing, this is the place to be. The 3 of us here at Function & Form have different personalities, and hopefully, through this blog, it will help you not only stay in touch with what’s current and new in terms of the company, but you can get to know us a little better.

With that being said, I look forward to hearing feedback from you guys out there…

Update:
The NEW Type II’s will be here VERY soon. The applications that will be available immediately will be the very popular EG, EK, DC, DA, and EF. We will be bringing out other applications, however, those won’t be available until next month some time. The Type I coilovers will be available next month as well. The Type I’s are non-damping adjustable. We realized that some people don’t want to spend the money on a damping-adjustable coilover when they are really only gonna drive the car on the streets. So our solution was to come out with a quality coilover for a cheaper price!!! How great is that??!!!

I like quotes as I find motivation or some sort of inspiration from them, so I will try to post a quote everytime I blog from someone or something I heard or read that I find interesting…

On my way to the office this morning i was playing the song “Stronger”, as i felt a need to pull out a motivational CD, and Kanye West Graduation is like my theme music. As i was listening to the song, i realized that the chorus had the same energy that we have here at Function and Form right now. All that is on our minds and agenda’s is to be Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. Another word that sums things up around here is “Hunger”. We are hungry as hell!! Not food, but hungry for success, hungry to become a stronger and better company.  

So with that said, the time is coming where the new version of the TYPE II is arriving. In the next few weeks it will arrive, and we will be back to serving this hotness to the streets! I personally am anticipating this as much as the Jordan 7/16 countdown pack coming in June (i will do whatever i have to do to get those Jordan 7 Hares, do not get in my way!!), but that’s neither here nor there. In the next few days you will see changes to the website in preparation for the new product, so don’t be alarmed if you see a temporary page up. We will try to make it easy on the eyes and have a mailing list so you can be in touch of everything we get our hands into (keep minds out the gutter please, thanks!).

On Saturday, March 29th, we took the liberty to make the 1.5 hour trip up north from Los Angeles to Button Willow racetrack. We were eager to support our long time customer and family of F2, Danny Hernandez, with his beast of an EK at the track. It was a chance to get familiar with the track, get familiar with our product, and get away from the hectic office life.

Upon arrival I was personally greeted by Danny with huge smiles and excitement. He had already did a session or two and was very pleased with the New Type Two prototypes he was testing. First let me give you a little history. He was one of the first people to have our previous Type Two and has had plenty of experience with our products and company(as a paying customer), so his excitement was a fair gauge of how our product marketed for "street" performance was performing on the track.

I decided to throw on a helmet and ride along for a few laps around Buttonwillow (configuration #13), and boy was a nervous but impressed. By lap 3 I was humming and day dreaming at speeds up to 110 mph or more. The suspension handled elevation changes, esses, and changes in directions very well. Also hitting those rub strips on the apexes was no problem for the suspension. Remind you this car hasn’t even been dialed in. It was pretty much, slap on the suspension, check the height, and lets roll!! Due to a broke Axle (darn K series power!), our day was cut short, but we look forward to getting back to the track to dial in the suspension and play with some configurations that will let us help our customers set up there new Type Two suspensions and help us develop a……….we will save that for another discussion *smiles*
